Wellness Rituals: Vacation Edit

In this Article

For the first time, in a long time international travel and tropical vacations are back on the radar, and for those of us with a deep sense of wanderlust, like myself, the desire to get out and explore is at an all time high. With this new ability to travel again, and as I prepare for my first vacation since the pandemic, I felt it was timely to drop a Vacation Edit composed of my favorite staples that help keep me healthy and happy while I am away.

Immune support and gut health are my main priorities when I am away from home and not in my normal daily routine. I try to keep it as simple, yet as effective as possible and not pack my entire medicine cabinet into my travel bag. These are my must haves when I am away:

Immune Support – Rainbow Light Counter Attack

Our immune systems can get easily depleted when we are away from home and not in our normal environment. Also, who wants to get sick while they are on vacation?! I always take a daily dose of this immune boosting supplement while I am away to up my protection and keep me healthy.

When we travel, especially internationally, we typically eat irregularly and foods different than what our body is used to. Supplementing with a digestive enzyme is helpful in supporting our digestive tract, absorbing nutrients, and fighting off bloat.

Probiotics – Probio Med 50

Probiotics are a constant in my supplement regimen, but even more important when I travel. They aid in both digestive health and immune support. When traveling it is important to find a brand that is shelf stable (non-refrigerated) and has a high potency. I always recommend a probiotic that is 50 Billion CFU or more.

Resort Wear

One of my favorite parts of vacation is the actual outfit planning before I even go! It might be silly, but purchasing a new bikini is always a very joy-filled moment for me. Carbon38 is mainly known as an activewear retailer, but they also carry a well curated assortment of vacation ready clothes and accessories as well. You can enjoy 30% off your first purchase and second purchase (within 60 days) using code: KELSEYWIED50

Here are a few of my current fave resort wear pieces:

Skin & Body Care

I am a sucker for skin and body products, and I love having items that are specific to vacation. These have become a staple in my toiletry bag because they travel well, multitask, keep you glowing, all while protecting your skin!

Suntegrity Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen & Primer, SPF 30

I am the worst when it comes to wearing sunscreen on a daily basis, but as we age it becomes so important for the preservation of our skin. Finding a sunscreen that multitasks has been a lifesaver, and I am loving this moisturizer/sunscreen/primer from Suntegrity. I apply every morning, especially when I am on vacation and know I will be getting a little more sun than usual.

Olio E. Osso Lustero Body Oil

Who doesn’t want a little extra sheen and shimmer on their skin, especially when they are wearing fewer pieces of clothing while on a tropical vacation?! This Olio E. Ossobody oil is light yet deeply hydrating and gives just enough shimmer to enhance and even out all skin tones. It has a seductive, spicy citrus scent that is reminiscent of balmy summer nights. It really is a no brainer for the travel bag!

H. Hazel Treatment Eye Gels

Whether you have been on a long flight or drank a little too much while laying out at the pool, these eye gels always come in handy, and I love that they are in single use packaging! They contain powerful natural ingredients: Cactus Collagen works to reduce puffiness, Aloe Vera, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E to soothe and decrease the appearance of fine lines, and Arbutin to combat dark circles and discoloration.

The right gear can make or break your trip. The following items are always packed in my travel bag, regardless of where I am going!

JBL Portable Waterproof Speaker

The right tunes can accentuate the vacation vibe and connect you to memories forever. I always pack a small portable speaker with me whenever I travel, and this JBL Clip is the perfect, space saving option.

Organic Cotton Turkish Towel

I discovered the beauty of the turkish towel at our Move With Experiences Sayulita Pilates retreat in 2019, and it has been a staple in my travel bag ever since. The right turkish towel can transition from sarong to towel to scarf to blanket, is super easy to pack and ever so chic. These ones from Amazon are organic, affordable and inexpensive – win, win!

TBH, I am not the biggest fan of working out while I am on vacation, but without fail I always pop my resistance band into my bag in case I want to fit a quick workout in before heading to the beach. Like the turkish towel, the resistance band is a major space saver and can serve so many body sculpting purposes. It really is a no brainer addition!

Even though many restrictions have been lifted it is still important to wear a mask, especially when travelling. The only masks I have worn over the past year are from one of my best friend’s line: These masks are handmade to order in Los Angeles, are lightweight, breathable and fit on your face like a glove. My favorite part is that they wrap and tie around your head, making them super easy to pull down and they don’t bother the back of your ears. Send Kyra a DM and she will hand make a mask for you!
